Day 1 Yangon to Mawlamyine by day train
Take train journey from Yangon to Mawlamyine [ETD 0700-ETA 1500] on your reclining seat. The view over the window is quite different since the scenery has changed from busy Yangon to small villages and endless paddy fields.
Arrive Mawlamyine and transfer to hotel.
In the evening take a walk around Strand road see many old colonial buildings, you can taste Mawlamyine traditional street foods in busy night market.
Overnight in Mawlamyine – 2 nights

Day 2 Explore Mawlamyine by your own in the morning & halfday visit by car in the afternoon
Your afternoon tour by car to cottage industries such as traditional loom located at Yoe Go Gyi Village, pottery at Ta Yat Gone village. Afterwards, continue to Kyaik Thanlan, a spectacular hillside temple with fabulous views of the countryside. This grand pagoda made famous in Rudyard Kipling's poem 'Mandalay'.
Finish your day of sightseeing Mawlamyine with a visit to Queen Sein Don Monastery, and U Zina Pagoda before sunset over the Than Lwin River from View point
Day 3 Take a boat trip to Hpa An by Than Lwin Princess
0830 am: depart Mawlamyine to Hpa An,sleepy town in Kayin State. The river views and tranquil scenes leave a lasting impression of this beautiful area. Enjoy scenery beauty of Thanlwin river.
A stop is made at a small jetty to visit U Na Auk village. U Na Auk (Mr Na Auk) was a Mon trader, living in this area in the British period and he was famous for his intelligence to trade and win from the big British companies and has been a symbol of being patriotic, have a good trading sense and be kind to his fellow country man. In modern schoolbooks his story is taught and everybody in the country knows his name and stories how he offered free transportation for the local people in his area, offered food and managed to compete with the British traders.
Visit the village by tuk tuk (your own account) to see amazing carvings ,old temples and ordination hall donated to the village by U Na Auk.
Continue sailing to Hpa An.
Arrive Hpa An around 1400 and transfer to hotel.
Overnight in Hpa An - 2 nights

Day 4 Explore Hpa An by Tuk Tuk
This area is decent and tourist class transportation is subject to availability. Though Tuk Tuk driver cannot support you in English as you expected, they are friendly and helpful.
Day 5 Hpa An to Golden Rock by express bus
0900 am : Depart Hpa An to Yangon. After 2 hours drive, the bus will stop at Kyaikhto bus stop and leave the bus.
Transfer to hotel.
After refreshing up, take a short ride by tuk tuk (own account) to Kimpun based camp where to catch the truck to the Golden Rock.
The Golden Rock is one of Myanmar's most sacred sites. Balancing its great weight on the cliff edge, the Golden Rock is an extraordinary natural feature. According to the Buddhist legend, it is only kept in place by a hair of Buddha.
The truck ride takes about 1 hour (own account).
Witness the nature , culture & traditions of local people, monks & nuns by enjoying the breathtaking view and the cooler air on top of the mountain.
Return to Kimpun based camp and back to hotel.
Overnight in Kyaikhto - 1 night
Accommodation : Golden Sunrise Hotel
Day 6 Golden Rock to Yangon by bus
Transfer to bus station to catch the bus to Yangon at 11 am.
It will take about 5 hours.
1600 pm : Arrive at Aung Mingalar Bus Station.

Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock) is terribly busy with local pilgrimage from mid Oct to end of Feb especially Myanmar public holidays and weekend days. We will not suggest the clients to engage with those days and will change order of itinerary to avoid crowded days.
