The cool mountain air, pine forests, beautiful landscape and ethnic minority villages make Shan state the perfect area for trekking. This 2-day trek with continuously changing scenery will make you discover a part of astonishing landscapes in the Shan state.
Day 1 Kalaw to Chaunggyi Pauk village
Early morning drive about 1 hour to trekking junction,Thayepoo , village of Danu ,Taung Yoe and Pa O village, the starting point for the 2 days trekking trip to Khaung Daing .
Trekking guide will introduce you to the villagers along the way and will show you the traditional way of life.
A lunch stop at Supan Inn village where you will see Danu and Taung Yoe.
After lunch , another 2 hours trek to to Chaunggyi Pauk a typical Taung Yoe village. The people in this village are well known for their bamboo mattresses and handicrafts.
Overnight at Chaunggyi Pauk village. (Lunch, dinner included)
Day 2 Chaung Gyi Pauk village to Inle Lake
After breakfast, take 2 and half hour trek from Chaungyi Pauk to the Hot Spring, the only place were you can go for a hot bath.
Then continue along the shore to Khaung Dine village at the north-western shore of Inle Lake. This Intha village is well known for the production of soybean Cakes ,noodles,crackers and making sweets from sugar canes.
Finally launching off on a narrow, timber boat, aimed for the far end of Inle Lake is a glorious feeling. Putting in the physical effort to reach the picturesque reservoir is a rewarding experience, especially as you reflect on the bewitching scenery you passed through to get there.
