Trip Overview

: This former British station is surrounding by pine trees and tea plantations. It is a good place for day or overnight trekking to hill tribe villages with beautiful views of the Shan hills surrounding in Kalaw.
Venture into the mountains and meet the colorfully dressed people of ethnic minority hill group like Palaung, Danu,Taung Yo.

A visit to Green Hill Valley Elephant Camp

Pick up from the hotel and a scenic drive to camp.

Receive a welcome from the team with refreshment and a briefing about the project.

A short walk brings you to the river, where you can join in feeding and bathing the elephants – they love the water and being scrubbed and washed clean! You are also welcome to join in the camp’s forest conservation programme by planting a teak tree here.

Enjoy lunch at the Lodge, with a view of the valley and the opportunity to see butterflies, birds and orchids. (Lunch included)

A trek to nearby tribes

Met up with your trekking guide at hotel for a full day trek in the hills beyond Kalaw, hiking amidst beautiful landscapes and remote hilltribes - a special experience of culture and nature.

Traverse gentle rolling green hills peppered with farms and villages. Stop in hill tribe villages, where the way of life has remained untouched by time.

Along the way, enjoy lunch in a local house, before heading back to Kalaw for the night (lunch included)

A trek to Myin Ma Hti village.

You will be met by trekking guide at hotel in Kalaw.

Start walking to Myin Ma Hti, an ethnic Danu village (approximately 3½ hours. The route takes you through the pine forest for an hour, after which you will be among fields where potatoes, mountain rice and vegetables are grown.

These are still worked by oxen and water buffalo - no machines or tractors are used. Working the fields is often a family affair – you may see young family members helping their parents Myin Ma Hti is known for its 313 metre-long limestone cave, containing many Buddha images.

Your car meets you here and brings you back to Kalaw.

Agriculture tour & take a train ride to Shwe Nyaung,beside Inle Lake

Meet you up at hotel to explore Myin Ka’s agriculture production and village life.

We will stop at a market farm to learn about flower & seasonal plantation growing in this region.

We will then meet the people to share the practices of seasonal plantations and farming.

Then, we will depart for our visit to tiny train station, built in British days (more likely built by the Burmese with the British giving orders).

Take a short train ride . Leave the train at Shwe Nyaung where your vehicle is awaiting and continue your trip towards Inle Lake.
